Courtyard by Marriott Savannah Airport

Jaden is the reason we’re planning to come back. She went out of her way to make us feel at home. The rest of the hotel staff were very friendly too, and our room was comfortable.

The location worked well, with several places to eat within walking distance, including a Starbucks across the parking lot. A few things made the stay less convenient: there’s no complimentary breakfast, and I don’t care for a shower area without a door or curtain. Half the room’s outlets didn’t work, and the night shift employee didn’t know how to check me in for business travel.

Juanita at the food bar deserves a special mention. Her smile feels genuine, and she draws people into cheerful conversation. She’s a better pick-me-up than the coffee she serves. The rest of the staff were courteous and efficient, and since we travel often, we especially appreciated how clean, comfortable, and conveniently located the hotel was near theaters and restaurants.

I booked through Expedia on Saturday, Feb 14th, for the next night, Sunday, Feb 15th, and arrived around 7 pm, four hours after check-in time. The room still wasn’t ready and needed cleaning. We waited nearly two hours, then left without ever getting a room. The front desk employee was pleasant but offered no useful help, only saying housekeeping would tell her when it was ready. Marriott customer service was even less helpful. I travel often for work and have stayed at Marriott many times, but this was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. I won’t stay with Marriott again if I can avoid it. They said they’d email me a link to submit a formal complaint, but I never received it and doubt I will. Do better. To Marriot: I made the booking the day before and arrived four hours after check-in started. This was your poor planning, not my fault. Have a great day!
