There were a few roaches in the room, which was unsettling. The AC ran nonstop unless unplugged, and the door kept catching on something in its hinges. We had lots of towels and pillows, though, and breakfast was decent. I arrived late, after it was supposed to end at 9 am, but plenty of other people were doing the same. Whenever we called or spoke with the front desk, both overnight and in the morning, the staff were extremely kind and helpful.

For an interstate stop near pricey Savannah, the rate seemed reasonable and the room had what we needed: it was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was included. I’d been wary after reading the reviews here, but the stay was completely fine. The room was quite hot when we arrived, though turning up the AC fixed that quickly.

The price was right and the staff were friendly, but the hotel needs a lot of maintenance. We had adjoining rooms, and one key failed because the lock battery was dead. At 10 pm, instead of replacing it, the maintenance worker kicked in the door between the rooms so we could access both. Then we found German cockroaches in both rooms and had to move. The bathroom sink faucet had broken off, so we brushed our teeth in the bathtub, and the floors had odd raised bumps. I don’t know whether all economic lodges are like this or just this one, but I’m not likely to try another.

The room was a disaster. It smelled strongly of mold, the ceiling was falling apart from a leak, and a large moldy stain covered the carpet. The bathtub looked as if it had been wiped with dirty water and then had dirt sprinkled over it, along with the supposedly clean towels. Both beds had something all over the sheets. We left without a refund after staff said this was the room we paid for and the booking was non-refundable. The lobby looked nice, but the staff were unprofessional and rude. They discussed how unhealthy the room carpets were and an employee quitting, then barely directed us to our room. On the way there, we saw mold covering the room windows. Absolutely disgusting.
