Residence Inn by Marriott Savannah Airport

I’ve been a Marriott elite member for over twelve years and spend more than 100 nights a year travelling, mostly at Marriott properties. This is the first negative review I’ve written about one of them. My crew and I wrapped up a multi-week Savannah project last week, and I checked out a few days after everyone else. I asked to stay until 4 p.m. on departure day so I could visit the job site and finish paperwork with the client. The friendly older woman at the desk asked the general manager, who immediately said no. As I went upstairs to clear my room, the assistant manager followed me, knocked repeatedly, and said I could stay later. I told them they’d made their decision and I’d made mine. I’d been in that room for well over three weeks, along with four colleagues who stayed three weeks. Our team had already spent thousands there on our first stay. In a few weeks, I have another two-month Savannah project with fourteen people who need rooms. During this stay, my TV welcome screen showed at least seven or eight other names, never mine. I also had several project packages delivered to me, and some were opened by someone else. I’m wondering whether I should report that to the postal authorities. Managers who act entitled, drive black Mercedes cars, and park in handicap spots, along with the awful service, are hurting the Marriott brand. We won’t stay there again.

There are lots of good places to eat nearby, plus shopping including Tanger mall, and a Planet Fitness just opened. The morning breakfast is pretty decent too. Eva at the front desk is amazing. Sometimes she makes you feel right at home, and her welcoming smile is contagious. She remembers names and gets requests taken care of promptly. I used to work in hotel management, and I can say she understands hospitality. Staying at the residence inn Savannah/Pooler Ga is always a great idea.

The rooms feel more like small apartments, with separate sleeping and living areas and a full kitchen: fridge, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and utensils. There’s plenty of space for a longer visit. The hotel is clean and well kept, and the free breakfast has hot, fresh food with enough variety for early and late risers. The fitness room is mostly treadmills and ellipticals. It does have free weights, but the area is cramped, so it may not suit you if strength training is a priority. A dependable, comfortable extended stay with useful amenities and a convenient layout, though it isn’t a full gym setup.

Just stayed one night and enjoyed it. The location was good, the staff were friendly, and my clean room smelled really nice. The bed was comfortable too. Breakfast was good, though they could add fruit. There’s plenty to do around the area, so it worked out well.
