Quality Inn & Suites Baton Rouge West - Port Allen

I was too worn out after a long drive from Norfolk Va toward Houston to ask for another room, but I left feeling ripped off. The lobby looked nice and updated, while the rooms clearly hadn't been. There was hair in the tub, pee in the commode, toilet paper on the floor, and a tub stopper that didn't work. This IS Quality Inn, but somehow their “Quality” seems to be listed somewhere down the road. These are complaints they've received again and again, and they apparently haven't fixed them. A good manager or owner would try to address the issues, but I can only conclude they don't care. Please check the reviews before booking so you can avoid this.

I checked in after traveling for days and needing somewhere to sleep, but should have left when the guy started yelling at me. The card reader's tap function didn't work. He told me to ignore the machine and keep my card in until he said to remove it, which seemed shady. I followed the machine's instruction instead, he yelled again, and the transaction went through fine. The bed felt about 30 years old, hard as stone, with springs sticking out. I couldn't sleep on it and ended up on the floor. The bathroom was worse: the toilet blocked the door, so it wouldn't close at all. The 19 inch TV was impossible to make out from the edge of the “bed,” and the room wasn't very clean. After a few days to cool off, I'm still upset about how the deposit was handled. At checkout the guy said he couldn't release it until housekeeping gave him information, even though I'd let housekeeping in when I left. Two hours later, another man said he had no information. I called again a day later, and a woman said it wouldn't show for a few days. Credits show as pending as soon as they're credited, but she didn't understand. Run. Sleeping in your car would be better, I promise.

I liked that there wasn't carpet, and I didn't see any bugs. For security, you can only get to the rooms through the lobby, even though the doors face outside balconies. But the room wasn't clean: I found several hairs in the shower and a few wall spots that might have been mold. I wouldn't stay here again.

Don't stay here. The person at the desk was nice, I'll give them that, but the bed wasn't clean. I feel like this place is going to make me sick.
