We had a great week away with my boys. There’s lots of room, two great pools, and it’s right on the beach. The walk over the dunes is short, with a nice path leading to a clean beach. Very kid friendly. Thanks!

After Hurricane Harvey, I rented a beachfront condo on the ground floor the following year. Not many units were open yet, so there were only a few families there. The pools were clean and looked after, and the kids loved the boardwalk to the beach. We came back the next year and stayed in a newly renovated beach-view unit on the second floor, owned by the same person. Its layout made the whole beach experience much better. The property has security, which is nice on busy weekends, and I believe the condos have full kitchens stocked with utensils. They’re a great value. The one downside is that the property doesn’t allow pets, so we haven’t booked here in a while.

Island Retreat has lots of lodging options to suit different needs, and there’s plenty for families to do without going far. You can walk to the beach, tennis, volleyball, the deep pool, pickleball, and basketball. There’s also lots of green space for grilling or tossing a football, frisbee, or soccer ball. Great Gulf views and sounds too. We love this place!

We really liked this place. Unit 171 had three bedrooms, lots of living space, and a huge porch where we could take in the dunes, ocean breeze, and sound of the ocean. We spent time at the pool and saw tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. I think there may be golf too, but I’m not sure. We walked the beach often, and the cut-through was close by. Highly recommend!

The resort is near the center of Port Aransas, with a short walk to the beach and just a short drive to shops and restaurants. The room was comfortable and nicely set up, with a small kitchen that had a stove and dishwasher, plus a medium-sized living room opening onto a balcony. Our unit had three bedrooms: two with queen beds and one with two full-sized mattresses, which were pretty comfortable. The bathroom was great. They provided a few towels, though I’d bring some of your own just in case. Hand soap and lotion were there, and we could use the stacked washer and dryer too. Please tidy up and sweep away any sand you bring in :)
