Blue Fin Beach House was the worst vacation we’ve had. We have two dogs, and at first I only noticed one flea crawling on one of them. Then we kept finding more on both dogs, on the beds and couches, and on us. The maintenance guy came and bombed the place, but it didn’t help at all. We’ve booked with Silver Sands for years, and this is the second year we’ve had problems with the houses.
I’d stayed in this rental a few years ago and was excited to return, but I hadn’t realized ownership had changed. The patio and pool were filthy when we arrived. I called the office and was told the pool had already been cleaned, but nobody came to check. The toilet seat was broken and the dishwasher leaked. I called maintenance and never heard back. I won’t stay at another Silver Sands property.
The location was good, but the house wasn’t maintained well. The AC was broken and we had to call to get it fixed. For seven people staying five nights and paying $2,000, the supplies were inadequate: one trash bag, one roll each of toilet paper and paper towels, and only four towels. There also wasn’t enough seating for everyone, and the couch should be bigger. The pool was dirty and didn’t seem to have been cleaned recently. We weren’t given the golf cart key combination, so we couldn’t use it on our first day. I wouldn’t rent from this company again.
My family and I had a terrible experience with this management group. The property was filthy and poorly kept, and it didn’t look at all like the photos. They wouldn’t offer a partial refund or compensation for the trouble we ran into during our stay. I also submitted a review on their website and they didn’t publish it, only posting reviews that favor them. Check the property’s Yelp reviews.
