Home2 Suites by Hilton Port Arthur

The rooms are clean and the staff are good, but I can’t understand the bathroom door choice in a double room. It’s a sliding door with a gap that lets you see the shower, and there’s no lock.

The room and service were fine, but the TV reception kept cutting in and out. When I reported it, I was told the single satellite couldn’t handle the whole hotel. Hilton needs to fix this. I’ve had the same problem at several other Hilton properties.

It was clean and comfortable, and the hotel felt secure, which matters when you’re in a town you don’t know. The location worked well for nearby businesses and the wider Port Arthur area. I didn’t interact much with staff since the Hilton app makes it easy to handle things virtually. Breakfast didn’t appeal to me much, though the room itself was fine.

The hotel sits between the hospital and highway, with restaurants nearby along the service road. The night staff were friendly. During the day, I was promised replacement towels but they never came. I’d asked for fresh hand towels because the acrylic at the bottom of the shower had either been scrubbed away or left dirty, and the black stuff looked like grime from people’s feet. We put a hand towel down to stand on while showering.
