Fairfield Inn by Marriott Binghamton

The woman at the front desk was very nice, which was the only good part of my stay. I paid close to $300, and the doors and windows coming in were filthy, with black fingerprints all over the white trim. The room smelled like mold, the toilet wouldn't flush properly, and the shower wouldn't drain right. There was rust on every door hinge, probably from the mildew and moisture, and it looked like the ceiling had been painted over mold. The windows were filthy too. This just wasn't my normal Marriott day.

The beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The bathroom was absolutely tiny, and the room wasn't as clean as our usual Marriott experience. The toilet bowl hadn't been cleaned. Apart from that, it was a good stay, with a typical breakfast.

Breakfast was pretty rough, just cheap frozen processed food. There's also someone smoking right outside the front door all the time, so it stinks. It'd be nice if they could send the smokers somewhere away from the entrance. Nobody wants to walk through that smell just after waking up and showering.

I travel for work every week and usually stay at the same hotel, so trash builds up in my room. Nobody came to collect it during the whole week, and when I asked the manager to take it out, he only removed the bathroom trash. The stay was awful, and I'm writing this mostly to remind myself never to come back. A staff member walked in while I was getting out of the shower, then yelled at me for being in the room when she saw me. The manager called and said it was a learning experience, offering free points for the privacy violation.
