Fairfield Inn By Marriott Port Huron

I need to update my earlier review. After I posted it, I was charged a $105 cleaning fee and $150 for a new mattress, even though neither charge appeared on my checkout bill. I know that’s total bull: what queen-size mattress costs $150? They apparently thought they were billing my company, but the company took the money back out of my check. I’m going to call corporate with receipts and pictures. Before that, my son and I had a great stay. The room and service were good, and we really enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. Housekeeping left me a note each day, which made me feel a little more at ease while traveling as a nurse. I can’t wait to include those notes in my blog about my first time as a traveling nurse.

There was a good spot across the street where the kids could play wiffle ball. I stayed with my brother’s baseball team, and the hotel was great. Staff seemed a bit rude, though we were being really loud, even during an activity they had allowed us to do.

The breakfast was amazing, with something different and fresh each morning. There was a yogurt and oatmeal bar, hot options, breakfast burritos that were handy to grab and go, two waffle makers, plus bagels, muffins, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Staff were friendly, and the pool and hot tub area was clean, with an outdoor sitting area for warmer weather. The hotel was quiet, with plenty of parking. My room had plenty of lighting, and the microwave and fridge were clean. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were in dispensers in the shower, which is always nice. The garbage bins had no liners, so I used my own. It’s a pleasant place to stay, and I’d recommend it.

Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional, and they went out of their way to make me feel welcome and see that I had what I needed. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I had a fantastic stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites and would definitely come back. Highly recommend!
