Parking was good, and the location is central. The front desk was helpful and gave us plastic glasses and coffee cups since they weren’t in the room. The in-room jacuzzi tub was nice, but the bedding felt itchy and the mattress creaked. There’s no breakfast here. I’m a light sleeper, and the ceiling creaked a lot from the people above, so I was awake most of the night. The room isn’t well soundproofed. It was an okay stay.

The service at this locally owned, quaint little place was wonderful. The gentleman at the desk helped with my luggage and even opened the continental breakfast at 5 am so I could have food and coffee before our train. It’s close to downtown, so I walked to dinner, then along the riverfront and stopped at the Irish pub for drinks. We had a great time in Port Huron. I’d highly recommend staying here, and it’ll be my first choice next time we visit.

The owners clearly take pride in this place, which they run themselves. It’s right in downtown Port Huron, near everything and the river. The rooms are newly renovated, comfortable, and quiet, with a fridge, microwave, widescreen HDTV, cable, and WiFi. And the pillows and mattress are so comfortable. Outstanding, accommodating service, too. Clean, clean, clean. I’m so glad I chose this hotel. You must stay here when you come to Port Huron. You’ll be glad you did, like I was.

The staff on every shift have been very friendly and courteous, and I’m enjoying my stay. I’ve never written a review before, despite traveling all over the US for work, but I wanted to say the place is much nicer than the bad reviews suggest. I wish I’d taken pictures before moving in our belongings for three weeks so I could show what the rooms are like. I’m moving to a downstairs room this coming weekend and will take some then. The motel has been completely remodeled, front to back, and is clean and nice. About 15 coworkers are here too, and their rooms are just as nice. The breakfast room is comfortable and clean, with oatmeal, cereal, toast, honey buns, fruit, yogurt, juice, milk, bottled water, coffee, hot chocolate, a restroom so you don’t have to go back to your room, and a TV. I hope I haven’t forgotten anything. The parking lot isn’t brand new, but it’s not that bad. Maybe they’ll work on it next after doing such a fantastic job inside. I don’t know why someone who hasn’t even been here would post negative comments after just driving by. Some people have nothing better to do. I’m from the bottom of the US and didn’t know anyone here, but I’ve met friendly people who work here. Don’t judge a book by its cover; some things are still a work in progress. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m in the area. The price is very competitive, about half what I’ve paid at all the other motels I’ve stayed in, which is a lot. I’m extremely pleased with the rate. Hope this helps correct the bad reviews that don’t match my experience.

The outside looks dumpy and has very little curb appeal. If it’s any indication of what’s inside, I’m afraid to go in. LAST FALL, the owner hired some “down on their luck chumps” to paint it, apparently unable to afford professional painters. They never finished, and what they did paint is already about 50% faded. There have been months of nice weather this year, but no effort to finish the job. The blue and orange look seedy, and it seems obvious they don’t care. The exterior says a lot about a business. If they’re fine with it looking like this, I imagine they might also be fine with dirty bathrooms, bedbugs, and reusing bedding. Nobody can take a place that looks like this seriously.
