Port Isla Inn

My family had a terrible experience and will never return. Everything was old, rusty, and dirty. The toilet kept running and flushing by itself, the towels were stained, and two stove burners didn’t work. The microwave and both refrigerators were disgusting, and both fridges were rusty. Management didn’t make us feel welcome at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, and I’d tell people reading this not to go. Don’t let the online pictures fool you. I’d give it no stars if I could.

The rooms are clean and a good size, and the beds seem comfortable, though I haven’t slept yet. The bathroom is roomy and has good water pressure. There’s a kitchen, but no pots, pans, or utensils. I didn’t visit the pools.

The location was convenient, with H-E-B and Walmart less than three minutes away, but that’s the only positive I can point to. We picked this place based on the online photos, which didn’t match what the rooms were actually like. I spilled water on the bed by accident and asked the front desk for extra blankets. The woman there was rude and unhelpful, said there weren’t any, and offered no solution. We tried the sofa bed, but it had no sheets. When we called to ask for some, we were told they’d run out because other guests had requested extras. The mattress was visibly dirty and stained, and when I asked for something to cover it, she dismissed me again. We ended up going to Walmart to buy sheets and blankets. A polite offer to wash some linens and bring them over later would have made a big difference, even if clean ones weren’t immediately available. We also had no clean towels, and there was no complimentary shampoo or soap, though luckily we’d brought our own. Someone else’s food was still in the oven, which raises concerns about how thoroughly the rooms are cleaned. Poor service, lack of cleanliness, and photos that misrepresent the property made for a very disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s not worth the money.

The rooms were huge, and having a kitchen was great. The pool was perfect too. Customer service wasn’t a big thing for me, but the gentleman who checked us in was wonderful. We just stayed this weekend, and I plan to come back.
