Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Port Lavaca

The place was clean and comfortable as soon as I walked in, and the staff, especially at the front desk, were professional, polite, and helpful. It didn’t smell like roaches in there or anything, unlike some of the neighboring hotels down the road, cough, cough. This location exceeded standards, and I’ll stay again!

For a quick work trip, this was an amazing stay, and I’ll definitely come back. The front desk was ready when we arrived and gave us a small gift bag with water and cookies. The rooms were clean, with good AC and no humidity. Free breakfast had waffles, western omelette, sausage, hashbrowns, muffins, toast, cereal, and oatmeal. The general manager was very nice and helped with breakfast, and the morning front desk gave us water when we left.

The rooms are always fresh-smelling and clean to the T, and the housekeepers are attentive and always smiling. Mrs. Christine is always welcoming too. Front desk customer service is amazing, they’re always on top of things with a smile. And the waffles are freaking amazing, by far the best!

The staff is great, but the manager/owner was rude and unprofessional when I tried to discuss a simple expense issue. She got defensive and made excuses instead of calming down and listening. This place could use a new owner or manager. I’m a gold member and am waiting for Port Lavaca to get a new Hilton location, since that’s where I’d stay. She seems to think she doesn’t need to be professional because she owns the place in the Port Lavaca area. Some sort of leadership and customer service training would help her, since it seems her team already has that.
