Sleep Inn Port St. Lucie at PGA Village

The room and bathroom were very clean, and the place was quiet with great internet. Friendly staff too. The room could use a little updating, in my opinion. Breakfast will fill you up, though there's not much choice if you need high protein or lower salt or sugar options. I'll be back on my next spring training tour. Don't believe too many of the reviews you've seen, this place is worth it.

Check-in was fine and the room was just about doable, but the floors felt sticky, there seemed to be mold in the freezer, and the bathroom was extremely dirty, with hair all over the floor. I don't even want to think about what was on the toilet seat. The one bright spot was getting to hang out with Stewart little outside by the pool. Next time I'll pay extra and stay at the hilton garden directly in front of this place.

We were in and out of the room in less than 15 minutes because it was so dirty. There was a strong mildew smell, black mold all over the shower walls that looked barely cleaned, and dirty, stained bedding we couldn't use. Cockroaches were everywhere, including visible trails inside the dishwasher. The kitchen cabinet had such severe water damage that its door wouldn't close, and the room felt damp, neglected, and unhygienic. The hallways smelled of cigarette smoke and marijuana despite the No Smoking signs. When we told the manager about the roaches, mold, and unsanitary conditions, they refused a refund for our five-day stay. Other staff either couldn't or wouldn't help. I strongly advise looking elsewhere. Between the mold, roaches, poor maintenance, and unresponsive management, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. MainStay Suites PGA Village raises serious cleanliness and health concerns. If you value your health, comfort, or basic cleanliness, don't stay here. I wouldn't recommend it. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Room 227 had a strong odor too, and as soon as we turned on the light, three roaches scattered by our feet. We left immediately, went down to the desk, and canceled the stay. The man at the desk was nice and understanding, and seemed used to hearing about this. Before that, we'd been assigned room 127, which smelled strongly of bleach or chemicals and looked dirty and uncleaned. There were yellow sweat stains on the pillows, stains all over the couch and chair, and dried blood across the tissue box in the bathroom. We asked to move rooms, and the desk clerk gave us a keycard to 227 to see if it was better. This place needs to be inspected immediately. Absolutely unacceptable.
