The grounds are beautiful and the pools are lovely, but the place feels unfinished and there isn’t much else to do yet. Our room was clean and spacious, though dated, and the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable that we slept poorly. At this price, the resort just wasn’t worth it. I left wishing I could get my money back. We arrived at 4:00 pm, expecting food to be available at an all-inclusive resort. The only place that seemed open was a barely functioning sports bar, with one tray of beef tips and no other choices. It felt awkward and unwelcoming, so we left the property to find somewhere to eat. Dinner was listed for 6:00 pm but didn’t open until about 6:10, adding to our frustration. Breakfast and dinner were okay, but food options through the day were limited. Service was poor too. Staff seemed unsure how to work in an all-inclusive setting. Our server asked my wife what she wanted to drink, ignored me, then walked away. When she returned with water for my wife, she spilled it over the table and didn’t acknowledge or apologize for it. My wife and I live locally and decided to try the new Sandpiper IHG resort, though our expectations weren’t especially high given the area. The quiet, peaceful setting was nice, and there’s potential here. Still, until construction is done, more food is available throughout the day, and the staff are properly trained, I wouldn’t recommend staying.
We really liked the peaceful view from the Infiniti Pool, and the five-piece band was a treat. Brooke gave a fantastic yoga class and took time to understand what I was comfortable with, so the workout worked well for me. Leo also found something we’d lost, so a shout-out to him. My husband and I had a relaxing, laid-back stay at voco Sandpiper. The property was very clean, there were lots of meal choices, and the activity calendar was good.
Mindy the Crippler, our golden retriever, gave her stay a paw of approval. There were plenty of friendly dogs around, and they’re welcome almost everywhere except inside the pool fences and buildings. We could sit together at an outdoor bar table or eat at the buffet restaurant’s outdoor tables. This might be the only dog-friendly all-inclusive resort in the U.S. The grounds are shared with RPS, a high-end residential tennis academy, so the instructors and facilities are world-class. A few details elsewhere could use attention: the bar has a magnificent regulation 22' shuffleboard table, but no wiper, silicone spray, or wax. It’s nearly impossible to play without them, and sliding pucks without lubrication will eventually ruin the table. I suggested management check the Shuffleboard Federation web site for the needed supplies. Food quality is at the Hilton/Marriott level and fits the reasonable price. With almost everyone eating at the same restaurant for all three meals, it was easier to get to know other guests than if people had scattered to nearby independent restaurants. Alcohol is included, though wine snobs may not be impressed. There are better restaurants in Stuart and even some in Port St. Lucie, but that misses the point of the stay. It’s also easy to get around from here. Walmart and Publix are within a 10-minute drive, Jensen ocean beach is about 20 minutes away, and downtown Stuart, FL is around 15 minutes away and a jewel. That’s a big plus over many Caribbean all-inclusive resorts, where you’re essentially a prisoner.
Claire at the front desk went above and beyond, and the staff were kind and attentive throughout. They made us feel like family and helped make this a wonderful family trip. We loved the daily kids’ activities, including arts and crafts, games, and sports, as well as the mini golf and arcade. Our two-bedroom, 1.5-bath room was roomy and comfortable. We had the BEST stay at Sandpiper Bay All-Inclusive Resort! The food was better than we expected, with lots of tasty buffet options and great drinks at the bar. The free kayaks were convenient and a lot of fun. Construction was happening in some areas, but it didn’t affect our stay, and we’re looking forward to seeing the new amenities being built, like the splash pad. The adults-only infinity pool overlooking the water is stunning too. We can’t wait to come back.
The pools are great, though they aren’t heated, and the infinity pool was quite chilly. The views are wonderful and the garden areas are coming along nicely. There’s construction going on, but it hasn’t bothered us, and the workers have been very respectful. There are still lots of activities available, and I hear day passes are quite reasonable. We’re here right now, Jan 26, and are very satisfied. The room is just as pictured on the website, and the staff are attentive. Food at the Riverside Market is quite good and has a good variety. All-inclusive drinks are limited, and there’s a charge for things like a can of beer or premium alcohol. I thought the nightly price was worthwhile compared with what we’d pay eating at restaurants. We’ll definitely return as long as prices don’t skyrocket!
