I've stayed in other old Victorian homes turned into B&Bs, but this was the best by far. Breakfast was so carefully prepared and had so many courses that I didn't need lunch. Our room and bathroom were very clean, and the towels and sheets had no scent at all, which matters to me because of allergies. There were beautiful antiques in the room and throughout the shared spaces. A delightful stay that exceeded everything I hoped for.

We always choose the Consulate Inn for our weekend trips to Port Townsend. The water view and convenient location are great, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We especially look forward to the delicious food and amazing breakfast service. Can't wait to go back. Five out of five stars!

The Old Consulate Inn is a charming classic Victorian B&B, and the food and service were simply wonderful. My wife and I spent a nice couple of days there while exploring Port Townsend. The room was spacious and comfortable. I highly recommend it for a couples getaway.

The people who care for this local landmark deserve a lot of credit for making everything feel so effortless. The lady of the house has created a B&B that’s elegant but playful, familiar and still full of surprises. No dusty, stuffy rooms or oppressive clutter here. And if the Lord of the manor is around, you may get to meet a dashing, witty man with a kind heart and a bit of a swashbuckling streak. The house itself is a beautifully restored historic place, lavishly furnished, with a wraparound porch and a sturdy hanging swing facing the sound. There’s a lighthouse in the view, too. If it’s your first time in Port Townsend, staying here is practically a local tradition. It feels like playful Victorian style and joyful heritage wrapped around a cozy, welcoming home. Stay an extra night just to explore it, and see what it’s like to sit at that table. The couple who run it are fascinating, warm, and wonderfully witty. And if you cosplay in Seattle, booking a weekday night for all the unusual photo opportunities here is a must. Otherwise, you’re cheating your fans, and yourself.

Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of tasty food and a relaxed, fun chance to talk with the other guests. The Victorian house is gorgeous, and the service was warm and excellent. We especially liked being able to use the parlor for hot drinks, games, or reading, and the billiard room downstairs was a nice extra. Outside, the grounds are lovely for sitting with tea or a book. It’s a quiet spot, except for the clock tower nearby chiming every hour. There’s also an electric car charger available anytime. We’re grateful for such a lovely B&B.
