Water Front Inn

My room, 108, was very nice, with good amenities and no repair or cleanliness problems. I only wished it had sheers beneath the curtains. I wanted some morning light while getting dressed, but couldn't leave the curtains open.

At $179, this really wasn't worth it. Nobody was at the front desk, so we waited a while to check in. I heard other guests say their rooms hadn't been cleaned at all and they had to be moved. The “crib” was an old, musty, stained pack n play, and my toddler quickly found a loose tile that had popped out of the floor. We also left an item behind and called the same day. We knew exactly where it was, but it wasn't in lost and found or where we'd left it, and nobody else had checked into the room. That leaves only one other possibility.

For $100 the day before Halloween, this was good value. The room was clean, and the extra housekeeping touches showed care. The inn is modest, but I felt safe. I was arriving late, and Melissa went out of her way to make sure I was all set. Then I saw her working early the next morning too. The location is a couple minutes from the best of downtown, and you can walk to a working shipyard nearby. Its cafes and diners gave me a different local option I might otherwise have missed.

The bay view and comfortable bed made the room better than we'd expected, especially since there weren't many places available when we booked. It's in a quieter part of the area but still close to restaurants and the ferry. I'd consider coming back.
