Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Savannah I-95 North Hotel

Getting to the hotel from I 95 was easy, and the location worked well. The room was okay, though I found hair in the shower and it felt gross. We were counting on the 6:30 continental breakfast so we could leave by 7, but it still wasn’t ready then. The coffee was already made, but it was the worst hotel coffee I’ve had. The front desk person was also putting the breakfast together. I had to call to get my receipt because it wasn’t emailed. There are two other hotels right beside this Fairfield, and I’ll try one of them next time.

The front desk staff were lovely, but I wouldn’t stay here again. We booked at the last minute for one night on the way to North Carolina, and $180 felt like too much for what we got. The mattress sagged badly on one side and was really uncomfortable. There was a lot of noise from screaming kids and barking dogs. I know the hotel can’t control all of that, but letting dogs into the food area was unacceptable. One even jumped onto the counter by the coffee. Breakfast was typical interstate hotel food.

Check-in dragged on for more than 30 minutes because the front desk staff didn’t know how to use the system. The room smelled strongly of mold from the AC, and there was mildew and mold in the shower. Even at a cheap price, this stay wasn’t worth it.

The one bright spot both times I stayed here, eight months apart, was housekeeping. The rooms were very clean and smelled great, and the housekeeping staff were polite and friendly. At the desk, though, the staff I dealt with were rude and unprofessional, and neither stay did anyone acknowledge my Titanium Elite status. This seems to happen at most locations I visit. I’m ready to switch hotel chains.
