Hampton Inn & Suites Valparaiso

The breakfast had a good variety of hot and cold choices, and the staff were very helpful. The place also seemed pet-friendly, with cat and dog food, treats, and supplies in stock, which was nice. It was a comfortable spot for the night and affordable compared with other options nearby. I was forced into a 2-night minimum on the Hilton app, but when I called the hotel, they booked me for one night. The Hilton App also showed a $15 food credit, which Hampton Inns don't accept. That was frustrating, though apparently it's a brand policy.

We stayed there on 9/19/2025. The facility, breakfast, and check-in staff were good, but our room had a dirty spot about 10" across on the carpet. In the morning, we noticed what looked like a dead 1/4" bug on the mattress sheet. We told the desk clerk at checkout in case they wanted to check for a problem, but they didn't seem interested and said we could contact the manager if he wished. I texted the manager and got no response at first. This isn't what we typically experience at Hilton properties. After seeing the review, the manager responded. He said he hadn't received my text because the number on his business card didn't accept texts. He also said he checked the marked spot on the bed and it wasn't a bug. I appreciate him responding to my concern.

Breakfast was nice and the location was convenient. The heating and cooling system was old and very drafty when it was running, so I had to find a way to redirect the air to keep from roasting or freezing.

We came for a wedding nearby and would stay here again if we return to the area. Our king bad room was spacious, well appointed, and clean when we checked in. The hotel itself was nice and clean too. Front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and professional.
