Portage Inn

I’m a construction worker and stayed here almost 10 weeks while working at BP whiting. It’s a decent hotel for the price: quiet, no bugs, hot water, and a decent bed. The owner is very nice. There’s a grocery store, laundry, and drug store five minutes away. I’ll definitely stay here next time I work in the area.

People were outside asking for money and cigarettes, so I wouldn’t bring children here. We stayed one night and paid one price. When we checked in again the next night, they gave us the same room but charged a different amount. The dirty sheets were still on the bed, so they hadn’t been changed when we checked out the first time. The owner was very rude and asked why I’d come to complain. They don’t change the sheets, charge different prices day to day, and act unprofessional. I’m definitely never going back.

It’s a clean, quiet place and really nice for the price. I often drive from wisconsin to detroit, so it makes a good stop.

Large, clean rooms with a microwave and fridge in each one. It’s a nice, quiet place.
