The staff were really accommodating, and the rates were great. My room at the Sands motel was nice and clean, and everything worked properly. There was coffee, a refrigerator, Wifi, and even a phone in the room for convenience. I have no complaints at all. I'll definitely stay again. If you want a clean, reasonably priced place where the staff genuinely care, you won't be disappointed.

The Sands motel felt like a peaceful little refuge after the harsh desert conditions of eastern New Mexico. The owner works hard to make travelers comfortable, and the rooms are kept very clean. It has that straightforward Southwestern hospitality and a feeling of safety and shelter. The nightly price can't capture how much heart and charm the place has. When you're tired and your basic needs are met easily, there's a simple kind of contentment here. It brought me back to simpler times, when comfort mattered more than luxury.

The woman who checked me in was so kind and accommodating, which I really appreciated. The rooms are affordable and clean. If you need a place to stay in Portales, NM, I highly recommend Sands Motel.

Sands took our credit card when Super 8 wouldn't. The manager at Sands was very helpful. Super 8's manager had sent us there for the night, but called my wife's cell instead of mine to confirm we were on our way. A gas station we'd stopped at had put a hold on the card.

I've stayed at Sands motel every weekend for a couple of years. The service is amazing, the rooms are very clean, and the rates are affordable. Every room I've had has a comfortable, firm bed. It's in a great spot, right off the main artery through town.
