The room was roomy and comfortable after long days on the road, and the rate felt fair for what I got. The hotel is quite cut off, though. You’ll need a car, since restaurants and shops are at least a 20-minute drive away. Breakfast was basic continental fare, with the usual pastries, eggs, and coffee. During my two nights, housekeeping never came in, so there were no fresh towels or tidying. If that matters to you, check the policy before booking. It’s a reasonable budget stay if you’re prepared for the remote location and limited service.

The location worked well for our Indiana Dunes trip, and I liked having a microwave and mini-fridge in the room. The room itself was decently clean, though I spotted quite a bit of mold on the third-floor ceiling, and the rest of the hotel felt a little questionable. Staff were nice, and there’s a simple dropbox for leaving your room keys at checkout. I don’t regret staying here. Breakfast was included, too.

The staff were pleasant, the room and bathroom were clean, and our bed was comfortable. The breakfast had plenty to choose from, and the waffle makers worked well, though I would’ve liked more vegan or kosher hot options. The location was about a 5-10 minute drive from the dunes. The pool was heated and had a jacuzzi, but the first floor smelled strongly of chlorine, probably from the pool. Some parts of the property are dated and need repairs, though nothing felt too bad. We had full-size shampoo and conditioner, and a roomy fridge, but it hadn’t been cleared out after the previous guests. Our in-room jacuzzi tub took a few button presses to start, and the hot water often ran out, leaving us with lukewarm or cold water. Water also escaped the shower onto the floor, and we wished we’d had more towels or a better barrier. There were some characters in the parking lot at night, but they didn’t bother us. It wasn’t a bad stay, and we’d come back if our choices were limited.
