I paid $372 more for the week than at other nearby hotels because the rooms were larger and had a seating area. But in my first room I got bitten by bedbugs, caught two, and brought them to the office window. Guests can’t go inside, and I had to keep pressing the service button outside. When a man finally came, I asked to switch rooms because my arm had swollen from the bites. It took him 20 minutes of phone calls to arrange it. The new room was farther away in a corner, which was fine. A couple of days later I went to do laundry, leaving the TV and light on. When I returned, my card wouldn’t work. At the window, a housekeeper and office staff member came out. They said the housekeeper would check it, even though I’d already tried the card. After a minute of explaining, I gave up and said I wasn’t going back down the stairs for another card before she checked. The card still failed, and when I finally got in, the TV and light had been turned off. Neither of the two rooms I stayed in had locks, which left me worried about privacy and safety for me and my daughter. It felt unsettling that someone with access to a machine could apparently make my card stop working and send the housekeeper into the room while I was there. I paid $372 for the week and expect to be left alone.
