We appreciated how quiet this part of town was, and there was a nice walking trail around the hotel for the dogs. Our room was huge, with a little sitting area, TV, couch, coffee table, and two big beds. We were three people traveling with two dogs, so the roominess and the fact that dogs are welcome were both a plus. I think the pet fee was $50, which we understand and are used to paying. I’d grumble less about it if places included things like a treat bag, poop bags, or maybe a water dish, but we didn’t get any of those here.
The staff are friendly, and getting from the parking area to the hotel is easy. I also liked the restaurant drinks, which weren’t watered down, and the convenience store had a decent selection. Our rooms have been clean, comfortable, and spacious, with the shower separate from the tub. It’s a good price, and this has become one of my favorite Hilton stays for the location, comfort, and welcoming staff. I usually stay at Hiltons when I travel, and I’d happily come back here.
The river path right nearby was beautiful, and the location worked well for OHSU. Parking was simple, and the staff were ready to help. We slept comfortably too, with a great bed, linens, and pillows, and there were no overpowering scents anywhere. This was my first stay at a Tapestry Collection property. It had been remodeled three years ago, and the place felt immaculate. The bathroom was lovely and clean, and we really liked our room.
I’ve always liked this hotel, but my latest visit changed my mind. I booked a last-minute business trip through Priceline for a Permanent Makeup Artistry Workshop. I paid for an upgraded king suite with a “view,” waited close to an hour, and ended up facing the street with a huge American Flag on the balcony instead of a view of the “Rivers Edge.” The toilet wasn’t working properly either, but I was already in the room, so I stayed. The staff were “nice,” though the undertone felt political to me. The person who came to clean my room made things awkward, and I got the sense everyone was in on a joke about giving me a less than decent room overlooking valet parking. When the toilet stopped working, I called the desk a couple of times for help. The man who came was extremely nice and helpful, and we had a polite conversation about how “divided” people can be. Please keep political opinions to yourselves and treat guests equally. This kind of “silent bullying” is a poor way to handle guests. My direct family were all immigrants, and pushing either a liberal or conservative narrative doesn’t reflect well on the operation. People are passing through for business, or trying to make a better life for their children and families, and should be able to enjoy their stay.
The lounge is awesome, the king bed and pillows in room 528 were very comfortable, and the price seemed decent for what you get. I’d stay here again. Booking through Priceline or another site instead of the hotel website will likely turn up better deals. My complaints were the ceiling intake air filter, which was absolutely filthy and looked like it hadn’t been changed in a long time, and the small, round toilet that didn’t seem built for men. Parking also costs an extra $35, which is kind of lame. Everything else was great.
