SpringHill Suites by Marriott Portland Airport

The desk staff were very nice and tried to help, but our park-and-fly arrangement went badly. I booked six months ahead to stay before flying from PDX on 8/30/25, return on 9/22/25, and leave our car at the hotel for three weeks. When we arrived, a notice said the lot would be closed for resurfacing from 9/2 through 9/20. They told us to park elsewhere, but couldn’t offer a safe place for the car, and parking at a sister property wasn’t an option. Since our flight was at 6:00 a.m. the next morning, I felt I had little choice but to hand over the key after the manager said they’d valet the car at a sister hotel. When we returned, they shuttled me to that property to retrieve it. Later I learned the manager wasn’t authorized to park it, so they had it towed there while we were away. They’d left it under a pine tree, and dozens of pitch drops on the windshield and hood took a couple of strenuous hours to clean. I couldn’t believe Marriott treated us this way. There were other problems too, including a toilet that hadn’t been cleaned in days and a very odd, deficient breakfast.

The room was huge for a double Queen, and I slept really well. Breakfast was a nice little complimentary buffet. It’s a great value if you don’t need a kitchen. The bathroom vanity was separate from the shower and toilet, which is handy when traveling with several women. I give this hotel a thumbs up.

The airport is close, and there are restaurants and stores nearby, so the location worked well. I stayed two nights in a spacious, comfortable room and had no problems. The staff were pleasant.

Lee at the front desk is a hoot, and breakfast guy kevin is just as funny. Both were really nice, accommodating, and made my stay a great one.
