The property is beautiful and our room was clean, but the way we were treated overshadowed the stay. At check-in, the front desk agent offered an upgrade without saying it would cost extra. We were excited and would have declined if told about the charge. At checkout, I found we’d been charged $1,000 more than Expedia quoted, and the final invoice had gone straight to Expedia instead of to us. When I contacted the hotel, they first said it was an error and promised to correct it. Several days went by without an update, and my calls got no response. Eventually someone returned my call and said the extra amount was for the upgrade. Since then, my calls and messages have been ignored. It’s deeply disappointing to feel misled and then ghosted by a place with so much potential. We’ve visited this area for years and always loved it, but we’ll take our business elsewhere after this. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it, especially with better-priced options nearby. Bummer!

We love this place and can’t wait to come back every year. Our kids are big fans, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming that they make you feel at home. They deserve a big Christmas bonus! It’s dog-friendly too. The tricky part is crossing the freeway outside with kids or pets. There aren’t many dinner choices, so get what you need before the kitchen closes. ❤️

The setting is beautiful, though the beds were too firm and there aren’t many trails. It’s a nice option for a golf retreat or a quiet resort getaway. Wi-Fi is limited, so just unplug and enjoy.

We only needed an overnight stay to visit the Western Pacific Railroad Museum, and there weren’t other rooms nearby. The mountain location is beautiful, but the room was nothing special and could use some sprucing up. New curtains would help, and there are maintenance issues around the property that should be dealt with. Calling it a resort feels like a stretch, and the price is high for what you get. I might return in the off season, when rates are more reasonable.
