Star Motel

My son and I were in San Francisco just for the day and needed a clean, affordable place for the night. This little motel fit the bill. It's freshly remodeled, the front desk was friendly, and the beds were super comfortable and clean. The shower was hot, and parking came with the room. I'd absolutely stay again!

A great find in a good location. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed. It's a basic setup, but has what you need for a stay in San Francisco and is in a safe area. Parking is included, and plenty of restaurants and interesting places are within walking distance.

The inside looks much better than the outside, and the rooms have been fully renovated with high-quality accessories. Mine might be too small for some, but I'm used to a small flat, so it was fine for me. Free parking is included, and there are nice restaurants within walking distance. A couple of things need fixing: the bathroom light runs on motion detection, but it wouldn't pick me up in the shower, so I had to wave my hand out every 30 seconds or so. The hot water was also inconsistent and may not be warm enough for some people in cold weather. Fix those two problems and I'd give it five stars.

The rooms had recently been remodeled and lived up to the rave reviews. We loved the design, and the staff were friendly and flexible from my first contact. I got a very good rate on Booking.com, which the hotel honored directly, so they didn't have to pay the site's expensive commission. They were also flexible about storing our luggage. The linens were super soft, though I kept ending up with just a mattress pad or a comforter without a sheet. Maybe it would help to tuck it in or use a blanket cover with buttons. Could just be my restless sleeping 😂. Lombard gets lively at night, but the rooms stayed quiet, and it was nice to have an in-room thermostat and AC. There are lots of good places to eat and drink nearby, including The Coffee Berry and Mel's Drive-In. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.
