The rooms were dated and visibly dirty, with a musty smell throughout, and we could hear the road outside. The hotel is supposedly under construction, and it seems like it’s been that way for a while. We were in Portsmouth for a wedding over Labor Day weekend and didn’t want to pay $400 a night, so we chose this place at “just” $250. When we got back around midnight, a sketchy man was waiting in the side doorway, drunk, barefoot, and reeking of smoke. We didn’t feel safe, so we left that night and drove home. Not worth it. Pay a bit more for peace of mind and safety.

The towels were clean and the rooms were nice. It’s close enough to everything, even if the location isn’t perfect. Rooms facing the freeway get some noise, but you don’t really hear it at night. Great staff, good service, and they filled all our requests. Check-in and checkout were perfect.

It was off season, and the place was huge, so we weren’t crowded around other guests or disturbed. There was plenty of parking, and the staff were friendly. The rooms were shabby, though.

The man at the front desk was absolutely lovely when we arrived. The hotel is close to everything we needed, and we’d stay again, especially once the renovations are finished. Only disappointment was that breakfast wasn’t offered.

Renovations were going on, but they didn’t bother me. The staff were great and the rooms were comfortable. There was coffee, though it would be better if they added breakfast.
