Holiday Inn Portsmouth by IHG

Everyone we encountered was helpful and made an effort to see that we were having a good stay. It felt genuine, which is rare these days. Breakfast was a pleasant sit-down meal, and our server was attentive without hovering. The room was clean and had what we needed. There wasn’t a smart TV, but there were plenty of channels, and it was nice not to scroll through streaming apps for a change. The location could be better, though road noise was minimal at night. It’s right by a highway, so check the map before booking. The parking lot was a bit tight, but we found a space on Valentine’s Day weekend, which was probably busier than usual. We’d definitely come back if we’re in the area.

We spent a couple of days at the Holiday Inn in Portsmouth. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room and bedding were good. The lobby and shared spaces felt a little dated. It was comfortable for a short stay. I’d book room only and have breakfast at the Roundabout Diner next door. Their breakfast is great and worth it.

The room was small but comfortable, and the bed was really comfortable. There’s an indoor pool, though it’s hard to keep the pool area warm when it’s in the single digits outside and there’s so much glass. The room had a microwave, fridge, ironing board, and iron.

The room itself was nice, but being next to the elevator was awful. It sounded almost nonstop like an airplane landing in our room. I asked to move, but there were no rooms available, even though I’d booked almost a month ahead and saw plenty still open. Not sure how we got stuck with that one. I was also overcharged for the room, which I’d booked through Priceline.
