I hadn’t been to Residence Inn in 15 or 16 years, and came here after running away from home, which is a short drive away. The room was a great size, with a pullout sofa and a kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, dishes, and everything you need. There’s a heated pool and jacuzzi downstairs that I didn’t use, but they still looked as good as they did years ago. Breakfast is included, with plenty of places to sit. Check-in was still great, and when I noticed a couple of things after unpacking, Daisy at the front desk was pleasant, understanding, and sorted out my concerns quickly. Thanks to the staff and management for being such a wonderful team. I’ll be back soon.

A work assignment that was meant to last three weeks stretched to three months at the Residence Inn by Marriott Poughkeepsie. When it was extended, Manager Jose made sure I could stay in the same room and remain settled. He went above and beyond to make things comfortable, and his care and professionalism made a big difference. Highly recommend.

The location was ideal, but I thought the price was too high, probably because of where it is. The room was ordinary, nothing special, and the beds were a bit hard.

Tonight I felt judged and belittled by Jessica in the lobby, and I believe I was profiled. I’m a part-time DoorDash driver and have delivered here multiple times, including to room doors. This time she looked at me and said drivers weren’t allowed to deliver to rooms. When I tried to explain my past deliveries, she talked over me and treated me like a problem. I even had a picture in the DoorDash app from an earlier driver showing where to leave the order, but she didn’t listen and kept insisting on a policy. I came in a brand-new car, not looking like a thug or a bum, and I’ve dealt with racism my whole life. This was one of the worst incidents. I wanted to ignore her and deliver the order as usual, even if she called the police, but I tried to handle it better. The behavior and judgment deserve attention. If the lobby clerk treats people this way, I’d never stay at one of these hotels, and neither would my friends, family, or many associates from my day job. We travel often, and no hotel employee has ever made me feel like this. I’m disgusted.
