SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Highland Poughkeepsie

We were a little nervous after reading some reviews, but decided to give it a chance. The rooms were spacious and very clean, the beds comfortable, and the showers hot. We arrived very late and needed to find food that was still open. The front desk agent was kind and helpful, giving us names of places and directions. I’d definitely stay here again.

My dad is in the hospital, and a medical emergency meant I had to leave earlier than planned. Shantel and Ashley were kind, understanding, and worked with me on the early checkout. They were amazing and so accommodating. I’d absolutely recommend this hotel.

We left without staying the night, after finding hair in the bed. We’d checked in at 2:30pm to room 103 for an overnight trip to a wedding in the area. At first the room seemed unclean, and the bathtub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. The comforter was wrinkled, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt that washing and drying had caused it. We came back around 11pm after the wedding and, getting ready for bed, my husband pulled it back. The sheets were wrinkled as if someone had slept in them. That and the hair were enough for us to pack up and leave. The room hadn’t been cleaned and the sheets hadn’t been changed. We told the front desk girl, who took our name and number and said the manager would contact us. No one did, despite several follow-ups, and sometimes they don’t even answer the phone. Disgusting room and awful customer service. Do not stay here.

About an hour after we checked out from our one-night stay, we noticed my husband had several bug bites. We hadn’t seen them while we were in the room or during our stay, but it left us concerned about the room’s condition and cleanliness. We wouldn’t feel comfortable staying here again, and hope management looks into it promptly.
