Hari Holiday Motel

I slept fine despite the trains, which didn't seem to run from 10 PM to 6 AM. The mattress was really hard, though, and that was the one thing that kept this from getting five stars. The motel was updated, very inexpensive, and impressively clean. Staff were also very accommodating.

The nicest touch was how they handled my request for a microwave. An off-duty housekeeper actually came by to bring one to the room. The newly renovated place also had two complimentary water bottles in the fridge, towels, soap, shampoo, and a guide to town. Not every motel has those basics in 2025. A+++ service from good, hardworking Americans. Highly recommend!

The manager was kind to me and my wife, and our room was clean. I called when they told me no rooms were left, but she called back after some cancellations and said they had one open. Thanks for the service. This was the best hotel I've stayed in, and I'd like to come back.

The deadbolt wouldn't lock, and after I contacted the property through hotels.com, they replied, "we don't have bed bugs." I woke up with bites on my hands and arms, and Tamarack Health confirmed they were bed bug bites from my stay. The room didn't feel clean, with insect exoskeletons on the floor, and the bath towels were thin and barely better than dish towels. I stayed one night while traveling to the North woods, and it was a miserable experience. You'd be better off sleeping in your car.
