Black Bear Lodge

We chose a kitchenette room and had enough equipment to make dinner on both evenings. It was clean and laid out efficiently for two, and the bed was comfortable. Kim was very personable, and her grab-and-go breakfast had croissants, muffins, instant oatmeal, apples, bananas, coffee, water, and hot chocolate. The lodge was also well placed for hiking in different directions. It looks a little outdated from outside, but the room was just right. I’d stay again.

Kim, the manager, was friendly and accommodating, and we especially liked the muffins at the continental breakfast. I stayed with my two young boys the night before skiing at Hunter, just fifteen minutes away, so the location was great. Our room was very clean and warm. The beds weren’t the most comfortable, but for the price it was good value. We’d return.

Great service, and close to the hiking spots and Hunter mountain ski resort. They’re pet friendly too. We appreciated the hospitality. Thank you!

Room 2 turned out to be bigger than we expected, with a small spot by the front door for our skis, snowboard, and other gear. It also had a microwave, mini fridge, and a table for two. Everything was very clean, even the comforter, and the beds were comfortable. Check-in staff were pleasant. For the affordable price, the location near the mountain and the accommodations were just right. A great place to stay for a budget trip to the Catskills/Hunter mountain.
