In 20 degree weather, there was no hot water. When I turned on the shower, the fixture fell off. The front desk clerk showed no concern and said maintenance was working on it, but neither I nor other guests saw anyone there.

The room was clean, but there was just one towel for the two of us, and nobody mentioned that at check-in. The walls are paper thin, you can hear every little thing next door. The tub drained very slowly, and the elevator inspection was out of date.

The breakfast attendant was especially nice, and the staff overall were pleasant, but the stay was uncomfortable and disappointing. My daughter and grandkids checked in on Thanksgiving. The bedspreads were stained, so we reported it and a man at the desk had housekeeping replace them. Later, after dinner with family, my daughter and I found the shower water stayed cold even after running it for several minutes. We had to take quick cold showers in November. The towels were scratchy and hard, and the carpet was dirty too. I called on 11/28 asking for the manager about these problems, but was told I’d get a call and never did.

The billing problem dragged on for more than three weeks and took repeated calls to IHG customer service to escalate. Management was unresponsive, and the whole thing was exhausting. I was here for business, and otherwise it was a typical Holiday Inn without anything notable. Corey was the only staff member I felt was worth speaking to. Many thanks to him for finally getting it resolved.
