Days Inn by Wyndham Decatur Priceville I-65 Exit 334

We travel a lot and stay in different hotels, and this was the worst one we’ve ever been to. The toilet was broken, the microwave sparked, the bathtub was dirty and unmade, and the hair dryer looked scary to touch. We booked a week but couldn’t take it after three days. People came into our room every day despite the do not disturb sign. Staff banged on the doors and windows, then just opened the door. It’s outrageous. Imagine being asleep naked early in the morning and someone simply walking into your room. I really don’t recommend this hotel.

Both people at the front desk were friendly and nice. The room was very clean, even behind the TV stand, and the bedding was clean too. The bed was comfortable. We were told the hotel has new owners who are renovating the rooms. We didn’t see bugs, unlike what others had said, so I guess the new owners are having the site sprayed regularly. We had a handicap room, but couldn’t use the shower because it was a regular tub shower that you had to step up into. That’ll take time to fix, so it didn’t bother us. Our stay was excellent!

Management said the room we’d booked had been robbed by the previous guest, so it wasn’t available. We were moved to a lower grade room without compensation. The room we got was clean but dated, and didn’t seem worth what we paid. Outside, the motel wasn’t well kept, and several people were smoking by the stairs and room entrances. Breakfast was lacking and nearly too crowded for the guests. Around 11:00 PM, somebody’s car alarm went off for about 20 minutes, and management didn’t do anything. It was about 90° that day, but the AC was off when we arrived, so the room was hot that evening.

I’d been staying here for several days, with checkout at 11. At 10:30 I paid for my room, then went upstairs and found everything I owned in a trash bag outside the room with other people’s trash. The housekeeper had set a few of my things aside to keep. The hotel offered no reimbursement. We needed somewhere else to go, and the next morning we found a place before 11, after already paying for our room. I asked for our money back since we were leaving at 11, but the hotel kept half. The manager is very rude and yells at guests as if we’re his employees. On my first night, I showered and walked to the bed with black feet. I had to wipe them with a rag before getting into bed, then the hotel tried to charge me for the rag because it was so black.
