The Westin Princeton At Forrestal Village

The staff at this Westin were great, and the rooms cozy with comfortable beds. Wesley helped at check-in, and we had lovely breakfasts both mornings at parallel 40 with Reef, Rodney, and Patima. But our bathroom toilet wouldn't flush when we arrived. Maintenance came three times to try to fix it, and on one night we waited over an hour for someone to look at it. We were kept up until after 1130, which is late for us. Eventually we were so frustrated that we used the lobby bathroom for the rest of our stay. We really wished they'd offered to change our room, but they didn't. Looking back, we should have asked. We've never had this kind of issue at any other Westin.

The beds are comfortable, and this is the only place where our whole group seems to sleep well because it stays so quiet. The pool area is welcoming, and the water is usually warm enough to get into without hesitation. We’ve always had our requests handled quickly and efficiently. Rooms stay very clean, and the bathrooms are in great shape, with no drainage trouble, noisy pipes or toilets, rust, or anything like that. I do wish the sink had more counter space for toiletries, but the closet shelf right behind it works for the extras. Some larger rooms can take a cot, though the smaller ones really can’t since the cots are big and nice. Every room has a couch that can be used as a bed instead. We love staying here.

I used to live nearby, so I can say this is easily the best hotel in the Princeton area. Our four-night stay was excellent, with no complaints and everything feeling top notch. The food was delicious, and the front desk staff, including Jamie and James, were very accommodating.

The staff we met were all fantastic, and the gym was adequate. I brought my daughters for a change of scenery and hoped for a gym, a heated pool, a nice room, and room service. The pool was nice to have, though it could use a thorough cleaning and a little more heat. It connects to the outdoor pool, which was closed, but there was still a draft coming through a gap with a soaking wet towel somehow wedged in it. Our Pure room didn’t seem to help much. There was a large hole in the large windows, letting freezing air blow in constantly and making the thermostat hard to set comfortably. Hallway noise made it difficult to sleep even with our Alexa running white noise. Then at 9am, three hours before the noon checkout, someone opened our door without knocking while I was in the shower. My daughter had to tell them we were still there. Room service was a letdown. After paying over $200 for dinner, I was surprised to get a $30 service charge on top of the delivery fee and tip. The food came in cardboard and takeout containers inside a paper bag, with no plates. My daughter’s steak was in a box, so she had no good way to cut it. I had to go downstairs for plates while dinner got cold. The food wasn’t that good either, and knowing that, I would have picked up food from a local restaurant instead. Ruth's Chris is within walking distance. The Market is decent, but expensive, and its premade sandwiches are VERY dry. Breakfast was a mixed bag too. The servers were wonderful, but the eggs benedict was odd, with overcooked eggs and two huge slabs of ham instead of the thin slice of Canadian Bacon I usually expect. Overall, the hotel could use updating, and the food disappointed me, especially since we enjoy room service when we stay at hotels.
