Bali Hai Villas

The pool and spa were just right for us, and the staff were nice and quick to respond over text when we needed anything. We had a second-floor room and didn't have any noise complaints. Chickens are all over the island, so they didn't bother us. We raise them ourselves. We had a great time here. The walk to the beach was a nice stroll, and we loved the north shore with everything fairly close by.

There's a decent grilling area, but expect to pay $25 extra per night if you want AC. Bring your nickels and dimes. Hopefully stairs to an upper unit are okay for you. I brought my parents and could hear every moment. The picture by our sink was gross, covered in dust and mould inside the frame.

The staff were amazing, and the pools are lovely. We spent most of our time exploring the island, but on our one rainy day it was comfortable to stay indoors. Our second-floor 2 bedroom, 2 bath place was perfect for what our family needed. There's a sofa bed in the living room, which we didn't use since the second bedroom had 2 full beds. Beautiful location.

We drove across the island daily because this North Shore resort is about an hour from pretty much everything. If you're heading to the south side, expect lots of traffic. The roosters are no joke either. One was right outside our room and woke us at 6:30 AM each day. On top of that, AC costs $20 per day, Wi-Fi was extremely spotty, and our AT&T cell service rarely got more than one bar. Our two-bedroom unit's layout was disappointing. The master suite had no door separating it from the bathroom, so there was no privacy between those spaces. The second bedroom had a private suite with a door, oddly, but a smaller bed. We were on the bottom floor and could hear every step and movement from the guests above because the floors are so thin. The rooms were adequate and the beds comfortable, but it was hard to relax. The pools were nice and the BBQs worked great, but one hot tub stayed broken even after we reported it. At check-in, the staff were very unfriendly and explained nothing about the resort or amenities, which set a poor tone. There are some nice features, but the lack of privacy, noise, extra fees, location hassles, and unfriendly service left us disappointed.
