Sleep Inn & Suites near Spirit Mountain

We’ve stayed here five times over the past few years, but we’re taking our business elsewhere after our latest visit. We booked two nights in February and had construction noise well past 10:30 PM: saws, duct tape ripping, drills, hammering, and vacuums. At 6 PM, the crew said they’d be done in about an hour, but they moved to the room below us and kept going. The desk clerk said he’d talk to them, but they didn’t even close the door to contain the noise. This was a Saturday, and I have a video of how loud it was. We would have canceled if we’d known we wouldn’t be able to sleep, which is kind of the point of a hotel. We’ve also had housekeeping problems on two stays, including a shower left dirty by the previous guest that we had to ask staff to clean. In December, the smoke alarm in my first room chimed every 15 seconds, so I asked to move. The second room had a black oil ring around the in-room hot tub. I was too tired to go downstairs and request a third room, so I left a note for housekeeping and attached pictures.

We booked through Priceline because we wanted a hotel with a pool, but on arrival we learned it was under construction during the remodel. Nobody had told us. Staff offered access to a sister hotel seven miles away, which we didn’t want. We asked for a discount instead and were refused. They said we’d have to take it up with Priceline.

The rooms were fine, nothing special. The pool air felt too cold even though the water was cool, and the area was very steamy while we were there. The hot tub water quality was terrible.

The staff are friendly and professional, and check-in has a nice, homey feel. The rooms are always clean and smell fresh. This was my second visit, and I plan to come back whenever I’m in the area.
