There seem to be only four rooms, which made this a very quiet and peaceful stay. The code access also suited me perfectly as an extreme introvert. We had convenient access to the building and parking, and lots of other places were within walking distance. We chose it for quick walks to fete music hall, and that worked perfectly. The converted industrial building has modern rooms with nice artistic touches.

I felt safe coming and going with the access code, and the location worked perfectly for our event. I stayed overnight for a work fundraiser and loved the space. It’s beautiful, modern but still cozy. The staff were incredibly helpful both while we held the fundraiser and while we were planning it. I’d recommend it to anyone hosting an event or wanting a stylish stay in Providence.

The Twill suite is nice, but there’s nowhere to unpack: no drawers, closet, or clothes hangers. Guests also can’t set the room temperature themselves. You have to text someone and hope they reply. If I’d understood what an “invisible service hotel” meant, I might have thought twice.

The Dye House staff were professional and clearly know weddings. We booked the venue for our wedding and had a great experience. With 60 guests, it was just the right size for a small wedding, and buying out the full weekend gave us plenty of flexibility.

We expected a cute boutique hotel and ended up feeling like we were glamping among bugs, mice, and poorly maintained rooms. The photos might look cute, at least. The booking was easy, and check-in felt secure. Our first room, the Twill Suite, had a flickering light beside the bed, dirty shower bottles, a broken body wash cap, mildew all over the shower head, and a falling-apart luggage rack. It was stuck at 74 degrees, and we couldn’t adjust it. The hosts responded quickly when I texted and moved us to the Heddle suite. Heddle had a smaller bathroom, a good shower head, and cute tiles, but the bathroom door had a big window, as other reviewers have mentioned. It’s not a good choice if you want privacy using the bathroom around your partner. Twill had the same sliding barn-style door, but its “private” door didn’t have that issue. The hooks for robes in Heddle were coming off the wall, and the towel rack seemed close to going too. Both rooms had bugs, including spiders and house centipedes, and there were bug remains on the walls from previous guests. Mouse traps under the Heddle bed near the headboard were unnerving. The beds seemed comfortable at first, but guests can’t change the temperature in either room. By the middle of the night, Heddle was back at 74, and the controls were on standby and wouldn’t turn on. That’s not my ideal sleeping temperature. The Heddle bed was very low, felt like it might fall apart when we rolled over, and had a mattress that was much too squishy. There was coffee in the room, but the pot had old water in it from who knows how many guests ago. We’d barely slept and asked for a late checkout. The host replied quickly and let us stay until noon. Still, at exactly 11 am, the cleaning crew came in without knocking. My partner called out, but they entered anyway while we weren’t dressed. I told the owner, who said they’d informed the crew, but that the language barrier got in the way. There’s no inside door lock apart from the keypad on the outside. Future guests can decide whether they’re comfortable with that chance.
