The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm

The room was huge, with a king, double, twin, pull-out sofa, and a folded cot in the closet, so there was space for a lot of people. It looked clean, but when I looked underneath while retrieving a toy car, I found a lot of dust under the beds and furniture. The location is excellent for cross-country skiing at Lake Pinneo, downhill skiing at Quechee club, and snowshoeing on the trail across the street by Dewey's pond. You might be able to skate there too, though the surface looked bumpy. It's also convenient for restaurants in Quechee and Woodstock. We booked the family suite for one February weekend night. After checking in and leaving our things in the room, we went to sit by the fire in the lobby. While we were there, cleaners came in, took our towels, and started stripping the beds. Why didn't they know we'd just checked in? It left me uneasy that they might come into the room anytime we were away. The lobby was fine, but the fire was low and the 'game closet' was mostly books. There were a few games in a chest, but the pieces were all spilled out. I'd like to see air hockey or more games for families. Dinner service was very slow. The adult food was pretty good, but the kids' burger was better than the dry pasta. Breakfast was excellent.
