Clear Lakes Inn

The woman working there was lovely, and the place was pretty quiet. If you have MCAS or other allergies triggered by chemicals, though, I can’t recommend it. The bedding had detergent residue that made me break out in hives whenever I touched it, worse than at most hotels. The air freshener was strong too, but unplugging it helped. There were a couple of questionable stains, though the hives made it clear the bedding gets washed regularly, lol. If you’re not sensitive like me and have family nearby, it’s a solid place.

I spent several weeks here this fall and was very pleased. The price was quite reasonable, and there’s a great Italian restaurant right next door. My room was clean, with a very comfortable bed, and the recent renovations have made this a nice place to stay. The staff were attentive and pleasant. My only suggestion is to swap the slightly rusty metal ice scoop for a plastic one.

Just south of Lake Fork, with nice accommodations and room to park a boat. The staff or owners were really nice.

The owners have clearly put work into this place, and it shows. The rooms are clean, smell fresh, have new bedding, and don’t have cigarette smoke odors. This is the nicest country motel I’ve stayed in. Ignore the old bad reviews, it’s worth every dime. These folks know how to run a motel.
