Econo Lodge Fort Knox

Check-out went smoothly, and the night clerk was polite when I arrived at 1 am Friday morning on 08/14/25 and gave me clear directions to room 133. The room looked clean at first, but a closer look turned up a lot: the microwave plate needed wiping, towels and sheets were discolored, and a four person room had only two washcloths and hand towels. There was a used lotion bottle, a badly stained tub that stayed dirty after I scrubbed it with soap and a towel, a moldy ironing board cover, and a poorly fitted chair cover. Ironing by the sink set off the smoke alarm. The room also stayed damp. I changed the air from heat to cool in the morning, and everything felt moist when I returned an hour later. A deep clean and replacing items that can’t be used would fix most of this.

They’ve clearly put time and effort into upgrades and keeping things in good shape. On my second work trip here in two months, the rooms were well maintained and cleaned every couple of days. They’d just installed new TVs in every room during that visit. Whenever something comes up, whether you’ve locked yourself out or need change for the washer and dryer, they do their damn best to help sort it out.

For the price, I thought this was excellent value, and I’d stay again. The location was handy for restaurants and getting onto the highway. My room was comfortable, clean, and well cared for, and the staff were helpful and friendly throughout. Breakfast was included, simple but satisfying.

I called the office after waking up with a bite on me and four on my 10 month old, after our second night under the blankets. The first night we’d slept on top of them and had no issue. When I asked to move rooms, I was told something about only smoking rooms being available. I’m pretty livid. We’re staying here while plumbing is being fixed at our home down the street, and I’d rather sleep there without plumbing.
