The Highlander at Radford, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

We visit family in Radford often and stay here whenever we can. The suite gives us room to have family over, with a huge living room and a dining table with six chairs, so we don’t have to meet at a restaurant and feel rushed. Today we needed a late checkout, and the staff quickly offered 12:30, which helped a lot. They’re always friendly and helpful, and the hotel is immaculate and well located. Every visit has been a 10 out of 10 for us, thanks to The Highlander staff. Love this place, and I highly recommend it when you’re in the area.

The town and Radford campus were a pleasant surprise, and we’ll stay here again on our next trip through. My wife and I had a wonderful visit: the staff were warm and accommodating, the rooms spotless, and the atmosphere was lovely. The rooftop bar and restaurant were outstanding.

We didn’t have trouble with the rest of the facilities, and the hotel is modern, clean, and in a great spot right by Radford University. But our room had an air conditioning unit with its panel removed, and parts and tools were left scattered on the floor. It looked as if a technician had been working on it and the room was assigned to us anyway. That’s an unacceptable oversight for a hotel of this quality. We arrived late and left early, so we didn’t ask the front desk to move us. There was also quite a bit of noise, which made sleep difficult. Better attention to detail could make this a great place to stay.

We spent one night in a suite on our first visit and had a great time. I was surprised by how much space we got for the price, with plenty of room for friends or visitors if you want to invite people over. The thermostat was easy to adjust. We’ll be back.
