Breakfast was a highlight, with the host making something different each morning and being extremely accommodating. The whole place was immaculate, full of vintage pieces that suited its 1850s feel. We had the Daisy Montague room on the third floor, with a sweet claw-foot tub, a hair dryer, and a little skeleton key for the door. The bed was very comfortable, and we liked being able to raise the head or feet and having extra pillows and blankets. The hot tub was clean, hot, and available day or night. My husband and I were in town for a wedding in Fawn Grove on Nov 8, 2025, so we didn't get to explore the area. We're excited to come back in spring with our bikes, ride the rail trail and passenger train, and try the crab restaurant. We can't wait to return.

We took a few photos together in the garden terraces out back, and they turned out lovely. Breakfast was awesome too, though I wish I'd had more, I had a wedding dress to fit into. Damon is one h*ll of a cook, and he and Amanda are fantastic innkeepers. My husband and I stayed at the Jackson House for the weekend of our October 2024 wedding, held just down the street at AleCraft brewery. It was the perfect calm, cozy home base amid the wedding-weekend madness. I grew up in New Freedom, have always felt fond of Railroad, and had long wondered what the Jackson House looked like inside. It's wonderful. The street is unassuming and the small town seems to disappear in a blink, but there's so much charm and treasure inside these walls. You must stay here!

The room was roomy and relaxing, and breakfast was incredible. My wife and I were here for our anniversary this past weekend, and the location was better than perfect, just 20' from the YHRT. After rides of 46 and 30 miles, it was nice to stroll right in. Definitely a must-stay spot.

The beds are comfortable, the location is great, and Damon is a breakfast genius. The innkeepers have lovingly restored this delightful old building and furnished it well, while keeping the quirks of its old stacked-stone construction. Those details give a B&B a character a hotel doesn't have. In a word, charming. I highly recommend staying here.

Parking directions and the breakfast time were explained really clearly, and the spot is quiet, just far enough off the beaten path while still making it easy to get back to a major interstate if that's where you're headed. My spouse and I have stayed at this charming B&B twice, in two different rooms, and both were comfortable and quiet. Both visits were a delight. We'd highly recommend it and can't wait to come back again!
