AC Hotel Raleigh North Hills

The location is the only thing I liked. In room 426, the bathroom sink is broken, and there’s organic growth or mold where the hand towels hang. We asked for extra towels, but none came. The ones in the room are frayed and should be donated or turned into cleaning rags. There also needs to be more light around the mirror by the door. The bigger problem was the outsourced valet. There was no clear place to leave the car at an already congested intersection, and it took a while to find an attendant. We were in the middle of the road, but neither the attendant nor the front desk could find a luggage cart or bellhop to help us unload. When I asked Tanashia, whose name I may have spelled wrong because she had no name tag, how a seven-floor hotel was supposed to help disabled or elderly guests and others who need assistance, she got agitated. We were left to take our things out of the car in the street. Twenty-eight minutes later, I went back downstairs and found my car still running. With gas nearly $5 a gallon and theft being a real concern, why wasn’t it secured? The valet also couldn’t find my car when I needed it. Cost wasn’t the issue; I could have gone elsewhere. It was the waste of my money and time. As a whole, 0/10, DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Our room and even the sheets smelled good, and the hallways had that nice hotel smell too. The hotel was so clean, and the cleaning staff are doing a great job. The bed was comfortable enough that we slept until 10:30 a.m., which we never do. Shequitta at the front desk looked after us and was awesome. The AC Hotel Raleigh North Hills is our pick for our next Raleigh visit. We really enjoyed the stay and I can’t say enough good things about it.

The location was the one bright spot. I was in the area for a wedding, but I’d choose another hotel if I came back. The rooms were badly lit, which made getting ready difficult. The walls were so thin I could hear my neighbors’ full conversations, and the bass from a party on the 7th floor on Saturday shook my room and made it hard to relax. That floor was booked for private events for most of the day. We tried to use the space for a drink before dinner and again after dinner, but couldn’t get in either time. It’s frustrating when the hotel’s only common area keeps being unavailable to guests because it’s rented out.

The valet stand needs to pay attention to the car retrieval app. They asked whether I was checking in and then asked what car I wanted, instead of acting on the request. The staff also need customer service training. The room had modern decor, but it wasn’t comfortable. There was hardly any space, no drawers, and nowhere to unpack. The hanging area was maybe two feet wide, and it was also the only place to fit one suitcase, not two. The open sink sat right at the entrance, so using it could wake someone who was sleeping. The mattress felt like a couple of towels on a board, which is basically what the platform under it was. The lobby wasn’t much better, with only a few seats set about 12 inches off the floor. Maybe the designer wanted everything to feel “bespoke,” but I expected a high-end room in a nice hotel and got very little comfort. Avoid this hotel.
