For a hotel charging around $400 a night, I expected much more care for the guest experience. The rooms feel dated and poorly laid out, with uncomfortable, impractical furniture. I also found the decor off-putting. Some of the artwork felt creepy, and each room had a dusty, dirty birdhouse with cracked or faded plastic parts. It made the room feel neglected. The restaurant and food seemed like an afterthought. There were no grab-and-go breakfast choices like yogurt, protein shakes, or even basic fresh fruit. The coffee setup was very limited and had no non-dairy creamer, which seems like a basic expectation at this price in 2026. The bar was understaffed, so service took a very long time. That wasn’t the bartenders’ fault: they worked hard and stayed professional, but there weren’t enough people scheduled for the number of guests. The stay fell far short of what I’d expect at this price.

The lobby feels lively and modern, especially in the evenings, and the North Hills location made it easy to walk to shops and restaurants during my short work trip. Check-in and checkout were quick, and the service was polite and efficient, though not especially memorable. My room was clean and comfortable, with a good bed and well-kept basics, but it wasn’t very spacious. Some of it felt dated next to the lobby, and I could occasionally hear people in the hallway. Noise was mostly manageable. It was a decent stay, convenient for business or a short visit, though not particularly luxurious.

Our group was happy with the stay, and the location made things easy. Shops, restaurants, and entertainment are right nearby, so coordinating everyone was simple. We had a few minor issues, but the front desk manager and staff responded quickly and handled them professionally. A great stay at the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel.

We could hear people talking and mostly laughing in the hallway and neighboring rooms, which was my only complaint. It didn’t change how I felt about the hotel, since there wasn’t much to be done about it. My husband and I were there for our 11th anniversary, and we had a lovely time. Everyone from the front desk to room service was cheerful and happy to help. Tessa brought our drinks and snack when we ordered a nightcap. After we mentioned the anniversary, she congratulated us, then came back a little later with champagne. That kindness made our night, and we really appreciated it. The hotel connects to the restaurant next door, Leo's, which was so convenient. We only tried the in-hotel restaurant through room service, but I’m sure it would have been enjoyable too.

We came back to the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel for a second year, and we love it. The location puts cute shops and good restaurants right in North Hills, plus there’s a Target within walking distance. Parking in the nearby garage is easy and free. Valet is available for a fee if you want it. The room was clean, comfortable, and well kept. Check-in felt warm and welcoming, and they offered us water. Breakfast was very good, especially on the weekend: eggs, French toast, shrimp and grits, fruit, parfaits, and more. Guests can use the full gym next door at no charge. Orangetheory is a few minutes away if you’re a member. There are lots of places to eat nearby. We especially recommend Sixty Vines and Michelin-recognized Tamasha Modern Indian. They also had complimentary, delicious cocktails for guests in the lobby from 5:30-6:30 PM. We’ll definitely be back!
