Hilton Garden Inn Rapid City

I won't be coming back. I paid $200 for a room with two beds, then learned the water in the room cost $2 a bottle. The entry floor was sticky, and the room had only decaf coffee. I couldn't find coffee in the lobby, and I was told everything was extra. There was no complimentary breakfast either. I've stayed in motels across North Dakota, Texas, and both coasts, always trying to save money, and I'd rather stay at one of the $150 places. I just want coffee I can drink and a small breakfast snack. The hot tub wasn't hot, and the pool was tiny. They also don't clearly advertise the price for each day. I saw $85, so why charge more on weekends if they can make money at that weekday rate while charging extra for everything? I had two bottles of water in the room and was told I'd owe $2 each if I drank them. Keep your expensive motels, hotels, or whatever you call them. The person I was traveling with booked this room.

We had to catch a very early flight, and the airport was only a 15-minute drive away. Before that, we sat at the bar for drinks and dinner. Wetu served us and was so friendly and chatty, and the steak was really good. Thanks, Wetu, for making our last night in SD memorable.

The lobby looked clean and nice, but there was a musty smell as soon as I reached the second floor. My room was dirty. Management needs to step up and make sure the cleaners are doing their jobs properly.

Stacy helped make our stay a fantastic experience. Our first room wasn't quite right for us, though it was still nice and clean. When we told her, she quickly and happily moved us to a room that suited us perfectly. She also shared useful ideas for what to see and do as first-time visitors. Stacy was attentive, kind, and generous, and we felt very well looked after.
