AC Hotel by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Beach

We had a few hours to spend between our cruise and an evening flight, so we booked a day stay from 10 AM to 4 PM. It gave us a comfortable place to unwind, enjoy the beach, and freshen up before going to the airport. The room was roomy and comfortable, the hotel was very clean, and the staff were friendly. They provided a beach bag, towels, and chairs at no extra charge. The beach was a short walk away, the cruise port was close, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. We were pleasantly surprised by the service and had a relaxing visit. We’d definitely return.

The beach and surrounding area were beautiful, but our family’s stay was awful. We booked two rooms for a celebration before a family cruise, and the pool was already small. It was then taken over by a large family on day passes. Their children were unsupervised, splashing people with a supersoaker, throwing a sports ball at adults, and repeatedly ignoring requests to stop or stay to one side. Their parents were drunk, and one told adults who didn’t like it to get out of the pool. Drinks were knocked over, and other guests couldn’t use the pool or chairs. We called hotel management several times, but the scene continued. We’ve spoken with local management and customer service a few times, then escalated our complaint to Marriott. It’s been three weeks and I’m still waiting for a response. Being harassed and physically attacked multiple times was not okay. Something needs to change, or day pass visitors should be stopped from taking over the only small pool. I was embarrassed that our family was treated this way.

Anitra was warm, engaging, friendly, and attentive to the details. She clearly wanted us to have a great stay. Albert and his team also seem to know how to run a property well. The hotel felt more like an upscale small boutique condo, with all the amenities, and the rooms reminded me of a more expensive Westin. We loved the little pool and outdoor bar on Floor 4, and both breakfast and the self-serve espresso machine were excellent. The location is hard to beat, just a short walk from the beach, with a quieter residential feel that suited me. Fantastic hotel and service. This will be my go-to in Fort Lauderdale on future work or leisure trips.

Collin at the pool bar was personable and gave us great service. The rooms are modern and very clean, the pool is nice, and service throughout the hotel is good. My only issue was the elevators. There are just two, so at busy times they get crowded and slow. I also think the hotel suits adults better and wouldn’t recommend it for families with young kids. Otherwise, it would’ve been five stars. Cheers.
