Fairfield Inn & Suites Rawlins

We stopped here for a convenient night while traveling to Colorado. The room was clean and had plenty of towels. I gave it four stars because the TV didn't work, and the assistant manager said they were in the middle of updating TVs or something. The pool was also closed, with a posted notice saying it was due to a chemical imbalance. Indoor pools are especially nice in the cooler fall weather, so I would've liked to use it.

The staff were professional, and the location was fine and quiet, but our room had several problems. There were long hairs left stuck to the shower wall, which was gross. The TV offered Netflix and YouTube, but those options didn't work, as the front desk confirmed. The thermostat was just for show, while a dusty wall unit handled the heat and AC. It was very loud. The bigger problem came on a cold, windy night. The room was chilly when we arrived, so we switched on the wall heater and warmed it up, then turned it off. Soon, freezing air started pouring in from outside under the unit. The installation was really shoddy, with a metal bar sticking out underneath that scraped our leg or hand. We had to stuff a couple of towels into the gap to stop the cold air coming through. I don't know if the other rooms are like this, but for what we paid, I was very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend staying here. There are a couple of other hotels of similar quality on the same street.

The free breakfast every morning, served until 10:00 a.m., is better than the usual hotel spread and a great way to start the day. Gas stations and restaurants are close enough to walk to, which makes the location convenient. Friendly staff make you feel welcome as soon as you come in, with excellent customer service throughout. Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Rawlins is clean, comfortable, and beautiful, one of the best places in the area. It's become my go-to in Rawlins, and I'd highly recommend it whether you're passing through or staying nearby. The extra hospitality makes me want to return again and again.

Worst service ever. The ladies were standing around talking and ignored us when we walked in. Then they looked at us like we were stupid for asking what we needed. I said we had a room booked, and they told us they couldn't check anyone in right then and to wait in the lobby. I understood there was a power outage, but they could've welcomed us and explained it respectfully. Honestly, what kind of employees are working here?
