Motel 6 Rawlins, WY

The workers were all really nice, and I appreciated the roomy bedroom and bathroom and the strong water pressure. But this place needs renovations, and the bed was awful. The springs kept poking me whichever way I lay, the pillows didn't give much support, and the blankets were so thin I couldn't stay warm at night.

There are probably a few specific reasons to choose this place. It's centrally located near Walmart and the grocery store, which matters since they no longer serve anything much like breakfast. You get a bag with a fruit bar and fruit cup. It also seems set up for longer stays, with more affordable rates for those. The rooms are very pet friendly, so expect animals around and keep allergies in mind. My room smelled like the man camp I was trying to avoid. The bathroom was nice, though mine had a full-wall mirror that seemed odd. Beds are firm and the pillows thin. The wall heating and AC unit is noisy, so good luck hearing anything over it. The TV had HBO and Disney, but the guide didn't work, leaving me unsure what I was watching. Felt very 1980s. I don't know when the Google guide photos were taken, but they need updating, and some misleading ones should come down. For about $10-20 more, the Days Inn looked like better quality in a similar location, and there are other similarly priced options if cost isn't the main reason you're here.

We felt safe, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. It's an older budget hotel that needs some upkeep, but it was fine for a single night at that price. Breakfast came in a grab-and-go bag with a fruit cup, cereal bar, and OJ. There was a nice outdoor pool area, though we didn't use it.

We got a large room with two queen beds and a pullout couch for the same price as a two-bed room. The mattress was comfy and the sheets soft, although the pillows were smaller than usual. I liked the little bathroom night-light. Breakfast was grab-and-go, with a muffin, juice, and applesauce. Nice to have, but nothing special. It's a very dated motel, and there's no elevator, which was the hardest part, but we managed. Check-in was the quickest I can remember. It was a functional budget place that met our needs for one night.
