La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Raymondville

We’re Wyndham members and had our request for late checkout approved when we stayed one night to visit family for Christmas. We were out before 1 PM, but still got charged a $25 late checkout fee. Charging extra on Christmas for an approved request we followed feels awful. I’ll contact Wyndham about it. Be careful, management seems to add fees for little things, even for Wyndham members with extra rewards. The room was muggy and smelled humid, and the shower made a strange screeching noise when turned on. The one positive is that the hotel is in Raymondville, where Harlingen has worse hotels. I guess we’ll have to stay at the Holiday Inn across the highway. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Whenever we come back to our hometown, we stay here. The rooms are always very clean, and the beds and pillows are the most comfortable.

The front desk was friendly and helpful, but the room was another story. The second bed had dirty sheets, and since it was 11 PM, I asked for clean ones to change myself instead of taking the offered room. The floor hadn’t been cleaned, and there was an extra guest crawling around that we had to step on. The TV volume wouldn’t go above 35, and the phone was just for show, not connected. Coffee was watered down, luckily I have family nearby who made better coffee and breakfast. I requested room service and all they did was bring clean towels and take out the trash.

The rooms are spacious and nice, but they smell bad, almost like mold. The front desk staff were very rude.
